New border outpost complex unveiled in Bragin District
BRAGIN DISTRICT, 9 April (BelTA) – A new complex of the Gden border outpost was inaugurated in Bragin District, Gomel Oblast on 9 April, BelTA has learned.

The outpost is located in the area of responsibility of the Gomel border group near the village of Gden. The border outpost began its operations in the autumn of 2022. Today, the unit is responsible for guarding more than 15 km of the land border with Ukraine within Bragin District. This is the country’s southernmost border outpost.
The head of state pays special attention to the improvement of the state border infrastructure. “Thanks to the assistance of the Gomel regional administration and the State Border Committee, we continuously improve the working and living conditions of the units guarding the border with Ukraine. Today we have completed another stage of construction and are opening the new complex of the Gden border outpost. This is the second facility built this year under the state investment program,” Igor Gutnik said.

The main feature of the guarded area is its proximity to the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, located 30 km from the border. The Polesie State Radioecological Reserve also adjoins the unit's sector.
The new complex provides comfortable living and working conditions. It has storage and repair facilities, a facility for service dogs, a training ground, cozy sleeping accommodations and sports facilities.

“I served at the old modular-type border outpost, and I can say that everything here is much better and of higher quality: more space and more comfortable living conditions. Getting proper rest and leisure is essential for performing your duties well, so you can recharge before your next shift,” serviceman Yuri Sinyavskikh said.
The Gden border outpost is a reliable stronghold on the southern border. Local residents also provide significant assistance in guarding the border: an active voluntary squad, established at the Komarin Village Council, operates in the outpost’s area.
