Minsk, Yaroslavl eager to launch direct air service
MINSK, 24 November (BelTA) - Minsk and Yaroslavl are planning to launch direct air service, Governor of Yaroslavl Oblast Mikhail Yevrayev said in an interview with the First News TV channel, BelTA has learned.
“We are currently building a new airport: both passenger and cargo terminals. We anticipate having excellent throughput capacity and plan to launch direct Minsk-Yaroslavl air service in 2028,” Mikhail Yevrayev announced.
As it has been reported previously, the mutual trade between Belarus and Yaroslavl Oblast has gained momentum in recent years. In 2021 it was approaching the $300 million mark (amounting to almost $280 million). In 2024 it exceeded $370 million. Belarus’ major exports are cheeses, cottage cheese, and butter; trucks; steel bars; and poultry meat and edible offal. Yaroslavl Oblast exports to Belarus include internal combustion engines, ferrous scrap metal, petroleum products, tires, paints and varnishes and also parts and accessories for cars and tractors.
