Minsk to host international piano competition in April

MINSK, 24 March (BelTA) – Minsk International Piano Competition will be running in the Belarusian capital from 1 to 10 April, BelTA learned from the Culture Ministry.

The competition will bring together the best young pianists from all over the world. The auditions will take place at the Belarusian State Philharmonic with the participation of Belarus’ State Academic Symphony Orchestra.

For thirty years, Minsk International Piano Competition has been one of the most significant and large-scale cultural events in the country. Shaping many trends in modern performing art, the competition has gained international recognition. Each edition becomes an important event in the cultural life of Belarus and abroad.

The main goal of the competition is to discover new talents, provide young pianists with opportunities for self-realization, help them reach a higher professional level and explore new creative horizons.The competition’s 30-year history points to the strong success of Belarus’s piano school, with its achievements repeatedly recognized at international competitions.
