Minister: No issues in implementation of Belarus-Russia visa recognition agreement

MINSK, 3 March (BelTA) – There are no issues in cooperation with our colleagues from Russia, Belarusian Minister of Internal Affairs Ivan Kubrakov said as he commented on the implementation of the Belarus-Russia agreement on mutual recognition of visas at a press conference dedicated to the Belarusian Police Day, BelTA learned.

“We started this work long before the agreement on mutual recognition of visas was signed. To date, it continues. There is a special program under which we exchange information, including on persons who are undesirable to enter the territory of each other,” Ivan Kubrakov said. He also pointed out that the entire border of the Union State is closed for such persons.

The minister also touched upon the cooperation with colleagues in the West. Ivan Kubrakov noted that law enforcers of all countries understand perfectly well that crime has no borders, which means it is necessary to maintain good relations. “Sometimes there are misunderstandings, but very rarely. As a rule, we come to a common denominator. As of today, we keep in touch with our colleagues from different countries,” the minister noted.
