Minister: Love for homeland begins in childhood

MINSK, 4 April (BelTA) – The Belarusian Transport and Communications Ministry led by its head joined the “Forest! Goodness! Order!” nationwide campaign on 4 April, BelTA learned from the ministry’s press service.

The ministry’s staff traditionally takes part in large-scale initiatives to restore forest areas.

Not only transport industry employees but also their children are joining this marathon of good deeds. This spring, the campaign is dedicated to the five-year quality initiative announced by the head of state. The focus is on improving land management and enhancing facilities within the forest fund.

“Love for one’s native land, careful treatment of nature, and the desire to preserve our national wealth and resources must be instilled in younger generations from early childhood,” emphasized Transport and Communications Minister Aleksei Lyakhnovich.

He added that such voluntary initiatives represent a meaningful contribution to the country’s development and the well-being of the Belarusian people.

In the territory of the Volozhin forestry enterprise, employees of the ministry and the Aviation Department planted birch seedlings across 10 hectares. Earlier, forestry workers had sown pine on the same site. In just ten years, a young mixed forest will be growing there.
