Lebedev comments on Belarus’ 2024 elections results

MINSK, 27 February (BelTA) - Belarusians truly care how their country will develop further, CIS Secretary General Sergei Lebedev told the media as he commented on the results of the 2024 parliamentary and local elections in Belarus, BelTA has learned.

“Belarusians truly care about how Belarus will develop, what policy and course the new parliament and local councils will pursue,” Sergei Lebedev said. “Of course, they want competent, decent, reliable people to come to power, to these elected bodies, who would fulfill the instructions of the voters.”

“Belarusians’ interest in peace, stability, in the calm development of the country resulted in such a high turnout,” the secretary general added.
