Healthcare Ministry: COVID-19 is gradually slowing down in Belarus

MINSK, 25 October (BelTA) – The COVID-19 pandemic is gradually slowing down in Belarus, BelTA informs citing the press service of the Healthcare Ministry.

“The last week saw a slight drop in hospital admissions. The number of patients on mechanical ventilation is decreasing by several people per day,” the press service noted.

In some regions, the epidemiological situation allows some hospital departments to return to a usual mode of operation. The website of the Healthcare Ministry contains updates about hospitals re-purposed to treat COVID-19 patients.

The press service added that all national research centers continue to provide routine medical care in full.

The Healthcare Ministry recalled that the coronavirus infection belongs to acute respiratory viral infections. Vaccination is the only effective way to prevent transmission and protect the vaccinated person from severe disease. People in Belarus can get vaccinated in almost all outpatient clinics, as well as hospitals, shopping centers and even in the metro.
