Gomel to host second youth military-patriotic forum on 6-7 May

GOMEL, 6 May (BelTA) - The Second Youth Military-Patriotic Forum will take place in Gomel on 6-7 May, with a packed and diverse two-day program, BelTA learned from the organizers.

The forum kicks off at military unit 5525, where participants will witness live demonstrations of skill by members of the unit’s divisions, the canine handlers of the Gomel Border Group, and cadets from the Military-Technical Faculty at the Belarusian State University of Transport.

The program also includes an exhibition of weapons and equipment, as well as special and combat vehicles from various agencies - from the Internal Affairs and Defense Ministries to rescuers and border guards. At interactive stations, young people will have the opportunity to try their hand at handling the equipment on display, among other activities. Military-patriotic clubs from Gomel Oblast will share their experiences, presenting their work and achievements.

The session promises an open and serious dialogue with young people on relevant issues. The agenda is Modern Patriotism - From Challenges to Solutions. Heads of government agencies will sit down with young representatives.

The young participants will also enjoy a concert featuring ensembles from the southeastern region.

The two-day forum program will conclude with a ceremony to seal commemorative capsules containing soil from sites of military glory, brought from various oblasts and Minsk, followed by a wreath-laying at the Mound of Glory.

The first forum took place in Minsk in December 2025, initiated by the Council of the Republic. The event brings together hundreds of young people, including members of military-patriotic clubs and organizations actively involved in fostering healthy patriotism.
