Expert reveals Russia's strategic goal in its interaction with United States
MINSK, 14 April (BelTA) – Russia's strategic goal in its interaction with the United States is to create a new security system, Andrey Bezrukov, Professor at MGIMO University, member of the Presidium of the Council on Foreign and Defense Policy of the Russian Federation, said in a recent episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
"In its dealings with the United States Russia seeks to get the entire world reformatted. First of all, the matter is about creating a new security system on Russia’s western borders. In essence, this is about the reformatting of NATO," Andrey Bezrukov said.
According to the expert, it is about creating a completely different system of international relations, so that the agreements reached would be honored. “It's important for us not to have some paper signed but to make sure the agreements are actually kept,” he said.
The United States and Russia are currently at war, Andrey Bezrukov stated. “Let's be honest, we are not fighting the Ukrainian army. We are fighting the army of the West,” he emphasized. “All the troop control systems, all the hardware are Western-made. Mostly American."
