MINSK, 15 March (BelTA) - Belarusian observers have noted strict adherence to procedures during the constitutional referendum in Kazakhstan, BelTA has learned.

An interim assessment of the voting process was given by representatives of the Central Election Commission of Belarus, who are observing at polling stations in Astana and nearby cities. The observers noted the timely opening of polling stations and strict compliance with procedures: sealing of ballot boxes, issuance of ballots to voters, and the presence of information boards.

It was noted that the voting is taking place in a constructive manner. The Belarusian observers confirmed the high level of digitalization of the process and the friendly atmosphere.

According to the CEC of Belarus, the task of foreign (international) observers is to objectively assess the compliance of the process with national legislation and international standards.

Belarusian MP Marina Lenchevskaya, who is observing the constitutional referendum in Kazakhstan as an observer from the CIS mission, also noted the excellent organization of the referendum.

“Everything is organized at the highest level. We visited numerous polling stations. The organization is thorough. The mood is positive. Citizens of Kazakhstan are happy to come to the polling stations to express their active civic position,” she said.

Marina Lenchevskaya noted the significance of the ongoing constitutional reform in Kazakhstan. “In my opinion, the Constitution cannot be static. It is the fundamental law of the state, which must be modernized in response to the real situation, to challenges and threats,” she said.
