Belarus, Uzbekistan to launch Regenerative Medicine Center in Tashkent

MINSK, 13 February (BelTA) – On 12 February Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Uzbekistan Aleksandr Ogorodnikov met with Minister of Health of Uzbekistan Asilbek Khudayarov, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The parties reviewed the state and prospects of cooperation in medicine and public health, including the study by Uzbekistan of Belarus' best practices in maternal and child health. They also discussed cooperation in the pharmaceutical industry, including the localization of the production of Belarusian medicines in Uzbekistan.

Particular attention was paid to the completion of the Belarus-Uzbekistan joint project to launch a Regenerative Medicine Center in Tashkent at the National Blood Transfusion Center, which implies the creation of an innovative production of stem cells.
