MINSK, 31 July (BelTA) - The heads of the customs services of Belarus and Uzbekistan have approved the terms of information cooperation and will sign a protocol on cooperation in combating customs offences in the presence of the heads of state, BelTA learned from the State Customs Committee of Belarus.
Uzbek customs officials got familiar with the work of the Belarusian customs at the border checkpoints Brest and Kozlovichi. On 31 July Minsk hosted the meeting between the heads of the customs services of Belarus and Uzbekistan Yuri Senko and Murodjon Azimov. The parties paid special attention to the implementation procedures of the mutual trade facilitation provisions of the government-to-government agreement of 2018.
“This question is important as the countries are set to reduce barriers in foreign trade, make customs controls more efficient and less time consuming, increase trade. The agreement is designed to address these tasks,” the State Customs Committee said.
The heads of the customs administrations approved the technical framework of information interaction, the basic document required for implementation of the agreement.

Such meetings create a solid basis for further customs dialogue between Belarus and Uzbekistan, the State Customs Committee added.
