MINSK, 10 November (BelTA) – On 7-11 November Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is hosting the XXIV Congress of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI). The congress has brought together delegations of supreme audit institutions, as well as representatives of international organizations. Among the participants is Chairman of the State Control Committee of Belarus Vasily Gerasimov, BelTA learned from the State Control Committee.
The Congress is the supreme body of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions. It is convened once in three years to discuss and recommend subjects of common professional and technical interest and to make decisions related to the operation of the organization.
The International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions is an umbrella organization for external government audit organizations from 196 countries. It is a non-governmental organization with special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations.
