Belarus, Russia to strengthen cooperation in countering cybercrime

MINSK, 23 May (BelTA) - The Ministries of Internal Affairs of Belarus and Russia agreed to exchange data on the current situation in cybercrime. Relevant agreements were signed following a meeting of the joint collegium of the Interior Ministries of the Union State of Belarus and Russia, which took place in Mogilev on 23 May, BelTA has learned.

The Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime and Corruption of the Belarusian Internal Affairs Ministry and the Department for the Organization of the Fight against the Illegal Use of Information and Communication Technologies of the Russian Internal Affairs Ministry have been tasked to ensure mutual data exchange on analytical work results and the current situation in cybercrime. The agencies will also share information on anticipated threats and methods of neutralization, as well as experience in prevention and legislative measures.

The agencies also agreed to participate in interstate joint investigative and operational groups to document the activities of international criminal organizations.
