Belarus, Oman aim to hold educational forum to develop joint projects

MINSK, 3 April (BelTA) – Belarus and Oman plan to hold a joint forum Dialogue of Knowledge to shape promising joint projects. The possible format of the event for researchers and developers was discussed on 2 April at a meeting between Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB) Sergei Shcherbakov and representatives of Oman’s Education Ministry, the NASB press service told BelTA.

The parties touched upon a wide range of matters related to prospective areas of bilateral scientific and technical cooperation and the possibility of signing a cooperation agreement between the NASB and Oman’s Education Ministry. During the meeting, the Omani side expressed interest in the effective use of artificial intelligence technologies in education.

The Omani delegation included Maryam Al-Riyami, Advisor to the Minister of Education for International Educational Relations, Moosa Al-Nabhani, Director General for Scientific Innovation and Artificial Intelligence, and Dawood Al‑Shabibi, Head of the International Cooperation Department.

Sergei Shcherbakov visited Muscat (Oman) on 1-2 April 2026 as part of the Belarusian delegation led by Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov.
