Belarus, Iran exchange views on global, regional security

MINSK, 27 April (BelTA) – Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin held a meeting with Reza Talaei-Nik, Iran’s Deputy Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Support for Strategic Planning, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Defense Ministry.

The parties discussed pressing issues of bilateral cooperation in the military sector and exchanged views on global and regional security.

Special attention was paid to the situation in the Middle East. Belarus reaffirmed its consistent and principled position on matters of international security. It was noted that the only path to resolving all contradictions is a return to political and diplomatic settlement and the intensification of the negotiation process.

The meeting was constructive in nature and confirmed the mutual interest of Minsk and Tehran in further deepening interaction aimed at strengthening security and regional stability, the Defense Ministry said.
