Belarus does not expect big inflow of refugees from Afghanistan

MINSK, 24 August (BelTA) - Belarus does not expect a big inflow of refugees from Afghanistan, Belarus' Acting Minister of Internal Affairs Yuri Nazarenko said at a meeting of the Coordination Council of the Heads of the Competent Authorities of the CSTO Member States on Combating Illegal Migration, spokeswoman for the Ministry of Internal Affairs Olga Chemodanova said in her Telegram channel, BelTA has learned.

Representatives of Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the Russian Federation, Tajikistan and international organizations looked into the effectiveness of the ongoing measures to counter illegal migration. The parties considered the possible inflow of refugees into the CSTO member states in the wake of the military-political situation in Afghanistan.
