Belarus’ deputy minister: Preserving wartime truth and honoring heroes is vital today
MINSK, 30 April (BelTA) – Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Pavel Utyupin took part on 30 April in a traditional commemorative meeting honoring Kyrgyz-born Hero of the Soviet Union Dzhumash Asanaliev, BelTA has learned.
The ceremony took place at the monument to the hero in Minsk’s Oktyabrsky District and was timed to coincide with the 81st anniversary of the Great Victory. The event was organized by Kyrgyzstan’s Embassy in Belarus together with the district administration.
Speaking to those gathered, the deputy minister emphasized the importance of preserving the memory of the Soviet people’s feat and noted that the commemorative meeting has become a fine tradition ahead of Victory Day.
Pavel Utyupin extended greetings to those assembled on the approaching Victory Day and noted that the battle-hardened friendship of nations will continue to serve as a solid foundation for the development of Belarus-Kyrgyzstan cooperation.
The event was also attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kyrgyzstan to Belarus, representatives of the Oktyabrsky District administration of Minsk, veteran and public organizations, as well as university and school students. The meeting participants laid flowers at the monument and observed a minute of silence in memory of Dzhumash Asanaliev and all those who fell during the war.
