Belarus' Customs to cooperate with Uruguay, Japan, Sudan

MINSK, 29 November (BelTA) – The Belarusian customs service intends to soon sign international documents on cooperation with the customs agencies of Uruguay, Japan, South Korea, Sudan, Jordan, Pakistan, and Uzbekistan, representatives of the State Customs Committee of Belarus told BelTA.

The committee works hard to establish cooperation with the customs services of foreign countries. Representatives of the State Customs Committee of Belarus take part in the work of various international organizations and integration associations. Close attention is paid to the creation of a mutual trade system, the improvement of information exchange, and the state of the legal base.

This year the Belarusian customs service has signed 15 documents of international nature relating to various spheres of customs affairs. The committee has organized a number of international meetings in Belarus and abroad. In particular, negotiations have been held with colleagues from the United Arab Emirates, Netherlands, Finland, China, Poland, Lithuania, Uzbekistan, Moldova, Latvia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, and Japan. Meetings have been held with officials representing the International Organization for Migration, the United States Department of Energy, World Bank experts, top officials of the Eurasian Economic Commission, representatives of the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex), ambassadors of foreign countries in Belarus, representatives of the private sector of China, Canada, Kazakhstan, and Moldova.

Upon the initiative of the Belarusian customs service memorandums of intent on interaction during the 2nd European Games Minsk 2019 have been signed with the customs services of Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, and Poland. The documents are aimed at coordinating measures and actions regarding the operation of border checkpoints, the creation of favorable conditions for transporting goods by participants and organizers of the games.
