MINSK, 17 October (BelTA) – The Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus continue reinforcing the state border. Rotation of units is underway right now, BelTA learned from the Defense Ministry.
“The main goal of the reinforcements is to ensure the security of citizens of the Republic of Belarus, to prevent border violations and the supply of weapons and ammunition. Bridges, crossings, and railways were placed under protection; positions for firing small arms and military equipment were arranged in order to prevent sabotages and provocations,” the ministry said.
Local units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Border Committee are also involved in strengthening the state border.
