Belarus’ CEC: A high turnout during early voting is due to information work
MINSK, 22 February (BelTA) – A high turnout during the early voting period is the result of the efficient information work, Secretary of the Central Election Commission Yelena Baldovskaya told reporters, BelTA has learned.
“The Central Election Commission carried out quite an extensive, large-scale information campaign. We held meetings with labor collectives, prepared information materials that were distributed via television and print media,” said Yelena Baldovskaya.
“We explained extensively the essence of these elections, we told people what the single voting day will look like, who we will choose, and how important it is for each of us to take part. Therefore, I think that this information work helped bring voters to the polling stations, hence a fairly high turnout during the early voting period,” noted the CEC secretary.
