Anfimov: Short-term observers will arrive in Belarus shortly before start of voting

MINSK, 14 January (BelTA) - Short-term observers usually arrive two to three days before the start of voting, Leonid Anfimov, head of staff of the CIS observer mission for the presidential election in Belarus, told the media, BelTA learned.

“This week we are sending almost all long-term observers to all regions of the Republic of Belarus. They are traveling to regional centers to meet with local authorities to discuss technical and organizational support for the work of short-term observers. So that the observers know where they will be accommodated upon arrival, what transportation they will use, what polling stations they will need to visit, and what level of interaction there will be between short-term observers, precinct election commissions, and authorities,” Leonid Anfimov said.

The presidential election in Belarus is scheduled for 26 January 2025.
