MINSK, 26 April (BelTA) – Yuri Nikolaichik, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Zimbabwe, spoke on the STV television channel about the contribution of Belarusian specialists to improving the healthcare system in the African country, BelTA reports.
“Citizens of Zimbabwe are studying at medical universities in Belarus. The first graduates will complete their studies in 2027, after which they will return home, bringing with them our knowledge and expertise to advance healthcare in Zimbabwe,” Yuri Nikolaichik remarked.
He noted that healthcare and social welfare issues are under the direct patronage of Zimbabwe’s First Lady, Auxillia Mnangagwa, who pays very close attention to these matters. “She also personally oversees joint [Belarusian-Zimbabwean] projects, which include the supply of medicines and equipment. Currently, focused work is underway across all these areas to ensure that our goods, medicines, and expertise can reach the people of Zimbabwe as quickly as possible,” the ambassador concluded.
