‘A wonderful school of life’: Belarusian PM shares memories of his student years at MGIMO University
MINSK, 15 October (BelTA) – Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko shared memories of his student years at MGIMO University in an interview with the Rossiya 1 TV channel aired on 14 October, BelTA has learned.
“There were moments when I struggled. The curriculum was very difficult, especially the foreign language program. In general, life was not easy back then, I had to earn some money. I worked in different places, sometimes doing manual labor jobs. Later I began to earn money as an interpreter at various conferences and exhibitions. But before that, I had to work night hours doing manual labor jobs," Roman Golovchenko said.
The prime minister said that he did not regret anything. "It was a great school of life, academic and social experience," the prime minister said.On 14 October, the university celebrated 80 years since founding.
According to the Belarusian Embassy in Russia, a solemn event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of MGIMO University was held on 14 October. Ambassador of Belarus to Russia Aleksandr Rogozhnik conveyed a congratulatory address from Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko to Rector Anatoly Torkunov, thanked him for many years of cooperation with the embassy and the invaluable contribution to the training of diplomatic personnel for sovereign Belarus.
