Lukashenko’s major working trip continues in Petrikov District

PETRIKOV, 25 April (BelTA) – Major working trip of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko to Gomel Oblast continued in Petrikov District, BelTA has learned.

The president visited the Petrikov Central District Hospital and Preschool Education Unit No. 2 of the Belaruskali Social Development and Housing and Utilities Department.
Thus, the second day of the president’s large-scale working trip focused on the development of social infrastructure and the creation of better living conditions for people. A set of measures in this area has been implemented through several state programs for the Pripyat Polesie development.

The next stage of the program, running until 2030, is currently underway. Its key aspects were discussed the day before during a seminar-meeting with the president at the Mozyrtekhnservis enterprise. Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized the importance of economic development in Polesie, the creation of new production facilities in the region, and the implementation of effective projects.
Earlier, during his trip to Krasnopolye, part of another major program for the socio-economic development of the south-eastern region of Mogilev Oblast, the Belarusian leader spoke about the priority of economic development in the regions. He stressed that economic growth must come first to ensure a decent standard of living.

“Traditionally, the ideological approach was: first create conditions for citizens, and then focus on the economy,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said. “But if the economy is strong, people will live well. So the economy and production must come first.”
