Lukashenko suggests expanding Mak.by chain onto district capitals

MINSK, 8 March (BelTA) – It would be a good idea to expand the fast food restaurant chain Mak.by, including onto the district capitals. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the statement as he visited a Mak.by restaurant on 8 March, BelTA has learned.
Aleksandr Lukashenko said: “It is necessary to do more. If you need a little bit of money, a loan can be granted. The state budget can help with that but not for a long period of time. If there is a demand, it is necessary to open restaurants in district capitals, too.”
The practice of using special food trucks was mentioned. It is a mobile restaurant that operates not only in the capital city but also other cities. In this manner residents of district capitals are offered an opportunity to taste Mak.by’s menu.

“You should evaluate the demand. If this truck helps, if people come and eat, then keep it. If not, then certainly you need a stationary [outlet],” the head of state remarked.
