MINSK, 14 April (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko spoke about priorities in creating conditions for citizens during a meeting to discuss the comprehensive social and economic development of the southeastern part of Mogilev Oblast on 14 April, BelTA has learned.
“It has always been the ideological approach: first create conditions for citizens, and then the economy. Guys, that’s not how it works. We have spoiled our people like that,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stated. “If there is an economy, the citizens will live normally. So, the economy and production come first. And we have a very strong dependency mentality.”

“People need to understand how we will act further, while the current president is in office. When a new president comes, how will he prove himself? Will the government’s authority be as strong as it is now? That is why we must do now what we are supposed to do. We must speed up, work and take action. We must build a country that we can pass on to new generations,” the head of state emphasized.
