Lukashenko, Pezeshkian hold phone call

MINSK, 30 April (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko held a telephone conversation with President Masoud Pezeshkian of Iran at the initiative of the Iranian side on 30 April, the press service of the Belarusian leader told BelTA.

Masoud Pezeshkian informed the Belarusian head of state about the situation in the Persian Gulf region and Tehran’s position in negotiations with the United States. The two leaders noted that the main obstacle to reaching peaceful agreements is the lack of trust.

Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized Belarus’ interest in the swift resolution of the conflict. In turn, the Iranian president thanked the Belarusian leader for his principled and consistent stance.
