Lukashenko: People should be involved in Minsk improvement

MINSK, 12 September (BelTA) – Residents of Minsk should take an active part in improving the capital, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he visited the renovated Loshitsa complex, BelTA has learned.
According to Minsk Mayor Vladimir Kukharev, a new trend has emerged in the form of citizen initiatives. Residents, often using their own funds, improve courtyard areas. Fourteen such projects have already been implemented this year.

The president stressed that this work should be included among the top priorities for district administration leaders in Minsk. “This must be done. You must mobilize, unite, persuade, ask, propose, and demand from people. Alongside the state, everyone should contribute at least a small amount [to support improvement efforts],” Aleksandr Lukashenko said. “This must be done because it's for the benefit of the people.”
