Lukashenko in favor of free catering in kindergartens

ORSHA, 28 August (BelTA) – It is essential to study the possibility to provide free catering in kindergartens, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said during the working trip to Orsha on 28 August, BelTA has learned.

The issue of catering in rural kindergartens was raised by Vitebsk Oblast Governor Nikolai Sherstnev. In his opinion, it should be free, just like in schools. “Catering for students of rural schools is free, and catering in kindergartens should be paid for. It means that senior school student get free catering, while parents of little children have to pay for it. These are young families, young specialists… We need to address the issue,” the governor told the president.

“Do you have money?” Aleksandr Lukashenko asked.

“This is not much. If there is a solution, I will find this Br5 million,” Nikolai Sherstnev said.

“Well let's draw attention to catering in kindergartens. We will analyze the issue in general (in rural areas and in cities), talk to heads of local administrations,” the president said.

“We must support villagers,” the governor said. “Of course, we will study the issue in general,” the president said.
