Lukashenko extends professional day greetings to Belarusian media

MINSK, 5 May (BelTA) - Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has extended greetings as the country celebrates Print Media Day, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The head of state noted that Print Media Day is a holiday for talented and deeply committed people who have chosen responsible work in the press, printing, and publishing as their life’s calling.

“The rich history of the Belarusian printed word began 500 years ago with the unique Bible of Francysk Skaryna, and has since developed and grown stronger, accompanying the people through all the milestones of their challenging journey. Today we can rightfully call ourselves one of the most reading nations in the world. Every year, more than 20 million copies of new books and hundreds of periodicals are published in the country and enjoy enduring popularity,” the message of greetings reads.

Aleksandr Lukashenko noted it is gratifying that behind every book, newspaper, and magazine stand skilled professionals and true patriots who enhance and pass on to young authors and journalists the best domestic traditions: objectivity, honesty, ethical conduct, and faithfulness to universal human ideals and state interests. “I am confident that in the future, every word you write will be aimed at preserving peace and harmony on this land and building a happy future for all residents of our beloved Belarus,” the head of state said.

The president wished printing industry workers and veterans good health, a sharp pen, inexhaustible creative inspiration, and high circulation figures.
