Lukashenko congratulates biathletes on victory at biathlon championships in Russia

MINSK, 22 March (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated the country’s biathlon team on securing a victory in a men’s relay race during a stage of the 2026 Russian Biathlon Championships in the city of Tyumen, the press service of the Belarusian leader told BelTA.

“Well done! Commendable! And at a very good hour!” the head of state noted. He wished new impressive victories and accomplishments to the biathletes.

BelTA reported earlier that the Belarusian team won the men’s relay at the 2026 Russian Biathlon Championships in Tyumen. 

Fourteen teams from various regions of Russia as well as three teams of four athletes each from Belarus competed in the race. The Belarus 1 team consisting of Anton Smolski, Maksim Varabei, Ivan Tulatsin, and Dzmitry Lazouski demonstrated the best result.

It is the first gold medal for the Belarusian biathletes at the 2026 Russian Biathlon Championships.
