Trump says peace deal on Ukraine better than ceasefire

MINSK, 16 August (BelTA) - U.S. President Donald Trump told Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and EU leaders during phone calls that he and Russian President Vladimir Putin support a comprehensive peace agreement for Ukraine rather than a temporary ceasefire, Axios journalist Barak Ravid cited a source, TASS informs.

“During today's calls, Trump told Zelensky and European leaders that Putin wants not a ceasefire but a comprehensive settlement to end the war. A source participating in the call noted Trump added: 'A fast peace deal is better than a ceasefire’,” The journalist wrote on social media platform X.
