Sergeyenko invites CSTO PA to monitor Belarus’ presidential election

MOSCOW, 9 December (BelTA) – Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Igor Sergeyenko invited the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly to send a delegation to monitor the presidential election in Belarus as he spoke at a joint meeting of the CSTO PA Council and the 17th plenary session of the CSTO PA in Moscow on 9 December, BelTA has learned.

“Our meeting is taking place against the backdrop of truly historic events that will shape the future of Belarus - the presidential election that will be held in the country on 26 January 2025. Let me take this opportunity to invite an CSTO PA delegation to participate in international monitoring of the presidential election in the Republic of Belarus. A formal invitation has been sent through diplomatic channels,” Igor Sergeyenko said.

The CSTO Parliamentary Assembly voted to accept this invitation.
