Sergeyenko: Belarus is optimistic about future of relations with Myanmar

MINSK, 10 April (BelTA) - Belarus is optimistic about the future of relations with Myanmar, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Igor Sergeyenko said during a meeting with President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Min Aung Hlaing, BelTA learned from the press service of the House of Representatives.

On behalf of the Belarusian president, Igor Sergeyenko congratulated Min Aung Hlaing on his election as President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.

“You have become a good and sincere friend of Belarus,” Igor Sergeyenko emphasized. “Your visits to our country, your meetings with the Belarusian head of state in Minsk, Naypyidaw and at international venues have demonstrated a high level of mutual trust and respect. Belarus and Myanmar have laid a strong foundation for lasting bilateral relations. Successful implementation of our agreements will take the relations to a new level.”

During the meeting, the parties discussed cooperation in the political, trade, economic, scientific, technical, humanitarian fields and interaction in international organizations.
