MINSK, 30 April (BelTA) - Belarusian Ambassador to Zimbabwe Yuri Nikolaichik has presented his credentials to Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Following the official ceremony, a one-on-one meeting took place during which the parties discussed the full range of issues on the Belarusian-Zimbabwean agenda. They reaffirmed the strategic level of partnership between Minsk and Harare, as well as their shared commitment to fostering constructive dialogue.

The Belarusian ambassador emphasized Minsk’s readiness to expand practical cooperation that would contribute to the sustainable economic growth and prosperity of Zimbabwe.

“In turn, Emmerson Mnangagwa praised Belarus’ contribution to the country’s development. He noted the significant potential for expanding bilateral ties and expressed confidence that mutually beneficial contacts at all levels would continue,” the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed.

The parties paid particular attention to the implementation of the strategic cooperation roadmap for 2026–2030, which includes joint projects in industrial cooperation, agricultural mechanization, and humanitarian engagement.

On behalf of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko, Yuri Nikolaichik also extended Independence Day greetings to the president of Zimbabwe.

The third phase of the agricultural mechanization project in Zimbabwe, assisted by Belarus, is currently underway. Energy cooperation has emerged as a new area of interaction between the two countries.

“The range of issues is indeed broad - from the supply of cable products and transformers to personnel training. Moreover, Zimbabwe is considering addressing its power generation challenges through the construction of a nuclear power plant. Here, our experience could also prove valuable,” Yuri Nikolaichik previously told journalists.
