German chancellor calls emergency cabinet meeting after Trump call

MINSK, 16 August (BelTA) - German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has convened an extraordinary cabinet meeting following a telephone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump, TASS reported citing Bild newspaper.
The chancellor held a teleconference with ministers at 10:30 local time (11:30 Minsk time) to discuss outcomes of Trump's meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska.
On Saturday morning Trump briefed Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and several European leaders about his Alaska summit with Putin.
