Election 2025: Belarus’ CEC denies registration to two initiative groups

MINSK, 29 October (BelTA) - The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus refused to register two initiative groups of citizens to support the nomination of presidential candidates. The relevant decision was made at the CEC meeting on 29 October, BelTA has learned.

The CEC did not register the initiative groups of citizens in support of Aleksandr Drozdov and Yuri Gubarevich.

The initiative group of citizens in support of Aleksandr Drozdov was not registered because the documents on the composition of the initiative group were not provided.

Yuri Gubarevich's representatives violated the procedure for submitting documents to the CEC by sending them by e-mail, which is not stipulated by the electoral legislation of the Republic of Belarus.
