Diplomat: Belarus’ cooperation in CIS, EAEU, and the Union State is important for stable development
MINSK, 6 April (BelTA) – Belarus’ cooperation within the framework of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Eurasian Economic Union, and the Union State of Belarus and Russia has become an important element of stability. Chargé d'Affaires of Belarus to Belgium Sergei Panasyuk made the statement in an interview with the TASS news agency, BelTA has learned.
“When we speak about cooperation within the CIS, the EAEU, and the Union State — which 30th anniversary, by the way, we are celebrating these days — this represents one of the essential elements of the stability of the Belarusian state’s functioning, including economic, technological, and food [security], about which our European neighbors worry so much,” emphasized the Belarusian diplomat.
“We are talking about a whole range of advantages that are clear to Belarusians. These include steady progress toward technological sovereignty, effective industrial cooperation, access to energy resources at affordable prices, and shared achievements in such high-tech fields as nuclear energy, space exploration, bio- and nanotechnologies, microelectronics, petrochemistry, and mechanical engineering,” noted Sergei Panasyuk.
The chargé d'affaires of the Republic of Belarus to Belgium also remarked: “Naturally, cultural commonality, the ability to communicate in one language, traditional historical ties, and coordinated policies in the field of security, combined with the preservation of sovereignty and territorial integrity of the member states of these associations, are of great importance.”
