Defense Minister: No new threats for Belarus in light of US withdrawal from INF Treaty

MINSK, 7 February (BelTA) – Belarus' Defense Minister Andrei Ravkov told reporters that he sees no new threats for the country's national security in light of the United States withdrawal from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF Treaty), BelTA has learned.

“No new threats have emerged,” the minister noted.

As BelTA reported earlier, on 2 February Washington confirmed the US withdrawal from the INF Treaty. The withdrawal process will be complete in six months. Russia is going to retaliate against the United States. “We will strengthen the Armed Forces and enhance the defense capacity, the statehood, the union of Belarus and Russia; we should do all this,” Andrei Ravkov noted.
