Commitment to expanding economic ties between Belarus, Cuba reaffirmed
MINSK, 28 March (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Cuba Vitaly Borchuk met with Havana Governor Yanet Hernández Pérez, BelTA learned from the Embassy of Belarus in Cuba.
The parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of Belarusian-Cuban relations in the areas of municipal services, agriculture, food, construction, pharmaceuticals, light industry, and mechanical engineering. Both parties expressed interest in expanding bilateral cooperation on comprehensive solutions aimed at improving the city and its surrounding areas.

Furthermore, both parties reaffirmed their mutual readiness to identify new effective mechanisms for cooperation. The head of the Belarusian diplomatic mission paid particular attention to opportunities for expanding reciprocal supply mechanisms, the need to streamline certification and registration of food products in order to increase trade and to the prospects for establishing joint production facilities in Cuba using Belarusian technologies and raw materials.
Following the talks, Havana Governor Yanet Hernández Pérez signed the original copies of the Cooperation Program between the Minsk City Executive Committee and the Government of Havana to strengthen comprehensive partnership between the two countries.
