Brazil mulls over joint projects with Belarus
MINSK, 20 March (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Brazil Andrei Andreyev met with Brazil’s Secretary for Trade Promotion, Science, Technology, Innovation and Culture, Ambassador Laudemar Gonçalves de Aguiar Neto, the Belarusian foreign mission in Brazil told BelTA.
The parties conducted a comprehensive review of the current agenda of bilateral trade and economic cooperation. The main focus was on identifying concrete steps to increase the volume of mutual trade and expand its range.
Within the framework of scientific and technical cooperation, special attention was given to applied areas: digital transformation of the social and financial sectors, as well as the introduction of innovative solutions in the agro-industrial complex and healthcare. An agreement was reached to establish direct contacts between research institutes and educational institutions of the two countries to assess the prospects for conducting joint fundamental research.
To strengthen cooperation in innovation, the parties discussed the prospects for Belarusian high-tech companies, including residents of the High-Tech Park and the China-Belarus Great Stone Industrial Park, to participate in Brazil’s specialized events.
