Belarus, UNHCR exchange views on priority areas for cooperation

MINSK, 28 April (BelTA) – On 28 April Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Igor Sekreta met with Arman Harutyunyan, the representative of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees in the Russian Federation and concurrently in the Republic of Belarus, BelTA learned from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting was dedicated to the commencement of Arman Harutyunyan’s diplomatic mission in Belarus. The two sides exchanged views on priority areas for cooperation in the near future.
The deputy foreign minister acknowledged the UNHCR office’s efforts to help address the situation with migrants on Belarus’ border with European Union member states.
The parties reached an agreement to jointly explore new international technical assistance projects for Belarus under the auspices of UNHCR.
