Belarus, Sri Lanka aim to boost cooperation

MINSK, 4 February (BelTA) - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to India and Sri Lanka (concurrently) Mikhail Kasko met with Sri Lanka’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism Vijitha Herath, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The parties discussed current bilateral agenda, including cooperation in education, regular air services, and the possible introduction of a visa waiver for Belarusian citizens.
The parties also touched upon matters related to the planned visit of the foreign minister to Belarus.
On the same day, a meeting was held with Deputy Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation Janitha Ruwan Kodithuwakku. The parties emphasized the importance of promptly signing an airspace agreement between Belarus and Sri Lanka.
