MINSK, 24 March (BelTA) – Belarus and Kyrgyzstan outlined ways to intensify military cooperation during talks between Belarus’ Defense Minister Lieutenant General Viktor Khrenin and Kyrgyzstan’s Defense Minister Major General Ruslan Mukambetov in Minsk on 24 March, the Belarusian Defense Ministry told BelTA.
The parties reviewed the current state of bilateral military cooperation and identified avenues for strengthening it in areas of mutual interest. During the meeting, Viktor Khrenin noted that cooperation between Belarus and Kyrgyzstan is open in nature and marked by a high level of multifaceted engagement.

“Our cooperation is developing successfully and is characterized by stable bilateral ties at the level of defense ministers and the armed forces as a whole. Multilateral cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Kyrgyz Republic within the CSTO is also gaining momentum. Belarusian and Kyrgyz servicemen regularly take part in joint activities. We will be pleased to welcome Kyrgyz servicemen to Belarus to participate in these exercises,” he said.
Ruslan Mukambetov emphasized that Belarus and Kyrgyzstan enjoy warm, friendly relations with strong potential for expansion and strengthening: “We are interested in continuing the exchange of experience between specialists of our countries, in developing mutually beneficial cooperation, and we intend to advance it in all areas of mutual interest.”
