MINSK, 18 July (BelTA) – A lot of fake information about results of World War Two is being generated to suit political ambitions of the West. Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei made the statement as an exhibition dedicated to the genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 opened at premises of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, BelTA has learned.
Vladimir Makei said: “A lot of fake information concerning results of World War Two is being generated today to suit political ambitions of some Western elites. Established historical facts are being distorted.”
According to Vladimir Makei, the significance of the heroic historical past of the Belarusian nation is reflected by the updated Constitution. He also reminded that a law has been passed in Belarus this year to stipulate the legal recognition of the Belarusian nation's genocide during the Great Patriotic War.
