Belarus' ambassador presents credentials to Venezuelan president

MINSK, 24 November (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Venezuela Andrei Molchan has presented his credentials to Venezuela President Nicolas Maduro, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“During a conversation after the official ceremony, Ambassador Andrei Molchan and Nicolas Maduro expressed strong interest in developing the Belarusian-Venezuelan relations and implementing joint projects,” the press service noted.

Venezuela officially recognized Belarus' independence on 11 January 1992. The diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on 4 February 1997. The Venezuelan Embassy in Belarus opened in December 2006, and the Belarusian Embassy in Caracas – in October 2007.
