Chernobyl memorial sign unveiled in Orsha

The Chernobyl clean-up workers memorial sign was unveiled in Orsha city park of culture and recreation on 25 April. It came about thanks to a civic initiative. In 2025, a draft design was developed and the memorial sign was manufactured. It features a split black granite slab with a relief figure of a firefighter symbolically sealing the crack. The word “Chernobyl” stands out at the top of the slab, while the radiation symbol appears in the lower corner. A red granite element symbolizes fire. At the bottom of the monument, the numbers 26.04.1986 are engraved.
