Forest is one of Belarus' brands and it is important to preserve and expand it, Grodno Oblast Governor Vladimir Karanik told journalists on 10 April.
Events of the Forest Week campaign were held all over Grodno Oblast. One of the largest areas that were planted to trees is located near the agrotown on Gozha in Grodno District. In 2019, a wildfire damaged 775 hectares of forest in the vicinity. Participants of the campaign, including representatives of the Grodno Oblast Executive Committee, planted birches and pines there.
