Five-for-five prisoner swap on Belarus-Poland border

A prisoner exchange operation based on a five-for-five formula took place at the state border between Belarus and Poland on 28 April. The event marked the culmination of a complex and lengthy negotiation process between Belarus’ State Security Committee (KGB) and Poland’s Foreign Intelligence Agency, which was carried out on the direct orders of the president of Belarus.
